Meet Mrs. Mary E. Dunlap
I am a 20-something south Florida transplant, originally from Nashville, TN. I speak southern, love sweet tea, college football, and my wonderful husband Darren. I married my high school sweetheart, am addicted to Pinterest and love all things Disney. I actually worked at Walt Disney World in Florida for almost 2 and a half years. I love to scrapbook, although I am currently a year behind and haven’t started scrapping my honeymoon from 3 years ago. Around age 8 I started sewing and even had to have my dad carry my sewing machine into class because it was bigger than I was!
Meet Miss Heather Studley
I am a mid twenties, western New York native, but a beach girl at heart. On the plus side I do not have that western NY hard accent! I still live in NY but am hoping to make this my very last winter, I somehow grew up hating snow. I absolutely love to cook, and now fall is my most favorite season to cook in! So many pumpkin products to make, Christmas cookies, pies (especially grape, a finger lakes specialty!), soups, stews, and the best of all, over use of my new crock pot that I got from my Mommy for Christmas in 2010! Just like Mary I am a complete Pinterest addict and cannot get enough of it, and love Disney. I also love pro (Miami Dolphins) and college (Ohio State Buckeyes!) football as well as college basketball (OSU) and hockey (Buffalo Sabres!!). My scrapbooks are not as behind as Mary's but I also do not scrapbook as many thing as she does, if I did I would be even further behind than she is. Sewing is a new passion for me, but I am quickly getting addicted to that as well, my great grandmother gave me her sewing machine 2 years ago when she moved into assisted living, but all is well, at the age of 94 she is still going strong! One thing I have also gotten extremely into lately is estate sales and garage sales. I get so excited to go out and see what other people have. It is nice because I am a nanny, and during the middle of the day only have a 10 month old, so we go out and enjoy all the crazy people at the sales. I cant wait to share all of my crafts, recipes and adventures with everyone!
How We Met
We both applied to do the Walt Disney World College Internship program for fall of 2006, and both got accepted to the program. Mary was going to Belmont University in TN, and Heather was going to Monroe Community College in NY. Upon arriving in FL and going through the check-in process for the program they became room mates. From there it was an awesome friendship that 5 years later is still going amazingly strong! The future plans are for Mary and Darren to move back to TN, where Heather would love to join them, bringing with her, Thomas the wonderful boyfriend!
