The City of LOOOOVE

Tom and I went to Philadelphia this past weekend to visit a friend of mine. This was by far my favorite trip to philly ever! I have been several times, but usually after a day I am ready to go back to Rochester, which is usually a bad sign. Going with Tom was a completely different experience. My friend had to work pretty much the entire time so we had two breakfasts with him, and visited him at work Saturday night, but other than that we were pretty much on our own.

We took the subway to 30th and Market and WALKED all the way back to Girard, well beyond 2nd st, with a few detours in between.

This map shows most of what we did!

KEY

1. My friend John's house, which is where we stayed for the weekend. It was very very cold in there. lol

2. The subway station at 30th and Market, where we got off and started our trek

During the beginning of our walk I stumbled across this:

Nom Nom Ramen
Yes please?

3. Barnes and Noble in Center City. Tom left for Florida yesterday and needed some reading material.

4. Holts Cigar Company

This is the STORE SIZED walk-in humidor.
This place was soooo big.
The front area was a store for smoking accessories,
then the humidor,
then a lounge.

Then we walked down Avenue of the Arts which was nice. Cool stuff to see.

5. We walked this really ghetto mall and did some people watching. I bought Tom a shirt that says "I <3 Bacon" (but not the word bacon, a picture of bacon strips) At Old Navy.

6. We walked over 2 miles round trip from Market st. to Geno's Steaks

This was my first ever authentic cheese steak.
And probably my 6th trip to philly.
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!
It was wonderful.

7. When we walked back up I took Tom into the building where the Liberty Bell is and instead of going anywhere near the Liberty Bell we read a few plaques and Tom decided he wanted to go see the Statue of the Unknown Soldier. So we went there, and when walking into the park there was a couple doing their wedding photo's which was pretty. She had the most beautiful wedding dress I have EVER seen. It was so gorgeous.

8. Then we walked the SEVERAL MILES, back to John's house where we took naps :-D

9. Upon waking, and being SOOO Hungry we went to Triumph Brewing Company to see John at work, drink a few beers, and have some pizza and wings. We had a Prosciutto pizza which had arugula and onions on it, and some buffalo wings. MMMMMm tasty. . . I went there a few weeks ago on my trip back home from Florida and had these amazing pretzels, but they were all out :-( I was sooo dissapointed.

It was my best trip to Philly yet and I loved it!

I really want to go to Texas on one of my future trips. If we have the money this summer we are going to somewhere near Cleveland in August, and supposedly Vegas in September but I doubt it. Money is deff. going to be tight for a little while.

SO EXCITED TO MOVE!

xoxo
Heather
