What I did this weekend

This weekend was extremely productive, regardless of the fact that craft-wise, I got absolutely NOTHING done beyond Friday night. Lets see here what did I do.

Friday night I got home and just relaxed a bit, and then followed it up with a trip to the grocery store. Exciting night huh? I did not realize that Tom actually WANTED to go to the Ronald McDonald Sale or I would have brought him, he seemed quite bummed that he did not get to go. I went Saturday with my mother and his parents, but he had to work. So instead Friday, we went grocery shopping, where we got to see some of the guys from Rochester Rescue 11, big thumbs up, and Tom got to slightly restore his faith in humanity because a lady let us go in front of her since we only had about 10 items. We went shopping last Sunday too, but I made a last minute dinner decision that night which required a shopping trip. BURRITOS! yay.

This is how dinner turned out

(from left to right)
Iced Tea (essential right?)
Shredded Chicken
-baked in the oven and hand shredded,
then finished stove top with home made taco seasoning
Canned Jalapeno's that my mother makes
Tomato
Onion
Lettuce
Rice
Taco Sauce
my green tea cup made another appearance :-D

Dinner was quite delicious. I only made three chicken breasts and we STILL have left over chicken, even after using more of it yesterday. We decided since it was cold and rainy, and because Tom had to be at work at 7am, that we were staying in. So we just hung out, Tom played some video games, and I finished up my Tin Can Jack 'O Lantern!!

I have not been able to upload the in process pictures, but here is the finished product!
I had fun making it!
And it was quick!

Saturday morning was the sale!

I got some really AWESOME stuff here, hardly anything for myself though. Oh Well!
Here is some of it!
We did not get this entire set there.
My mother already owned a complete service for 6 (minus the cake plates)
Then friday, during my estate sale excursion
I found another complete set of 6 for $12.50,
except 1 had a crack in it.
So at the sale we found one cup, complete with saucer,
for $2.50, perfect!

I have wanted one of these for a while,
usually they are on wedding registries so I was thinking about waiting,
but since a wedding is not in my immediate future,
I got this one for $6.
LOVE IT.

I found this awesome orange dish for my mom,
she has an identical one in green at home.
So now she has 2!
I love the orange.

I got this little tin for Tom.
He has been a cigar smoker for a while,
but recently got into pipes and has been collecting a few things here and there.
The collection is slowly growing.

After the sale I had a hot lunch date with my friend Rob. Haha, ok not a hot date, but it was good to see him since I don't get to very often. I got to see his new house, his adorable puppy, and meet some of his friends so it was a good day. I spent 5 hours with him! Holy cow, haha no wonder it seemed so late when I got home. I did some more furniture moving when I got home, luckily this time Tom liked it. :-D yay for a win there. He HATED it the last time I moved the furniture. Oh well he better get used to it. I went and picked up my small book shelf for our bedroom and moved the big one downstairs. Our bedroom HAS SO MUCH MORE ROOM IN IT NOW! yay! haha. I like having the big one in the basement too. I was hoping that by moving it down there I could store some clothes on it, HA! guess again. Between to collectors alcohol bottles, the bottles that still contain alcohol, and the collectors tobacco products, THE ENTIRE THING IS FULL! There is even stuff on top of the shelf. There went that idea.

(from the top SHELF down)
Top
Tom found these Jim Beam Bicentennial bottles at an estate sale last week
He also found the cigar boxes in the middle there
(apparently Rochester used to have a cigar company, who knew?)
Second
In the middle is Toms new Whiskey bottle I found at that sale
HOW COOL IS THAT!
It goes with the big box on the top of the book shelf
Note the little gold tin can on that shelf too.
There are also some whiskey pitchers he found at the same estate sale last week
Three and Four
These shelves have all of our alcohol that is still being drank
Tom likes expensive whiskey and bourbon
I on the other hand, am very content with Tequila and Wine.
We did get a couple of the bottles in KY at the Bourbon Trail tho,
which we will absolutely be going back to!
Bottom
The bottom shelf has all of the empty bottles that Tom is "collecting"
I have no idea what we are going to do with all of these.
Oh well.

I did not tell Tom all day what I got him, just that I got him something "really awesome." He was so excited when he saw that bottle, he was like a little kid, it was too funny. Since he got home at 11:30pm bed came soon after, we are clearly very lively. Its ok, after that full day I was VERY tired. Sunday was a fresh day however. I used some of the left over chicken, and some bacon we had on hand because its a major food group for Tom, to make some Quesadillas!

besides the chicken and bacon,
there was peppers and onions that I cooked up in the left over bacon grease
(I drained the on paper towels, as well as the bacon)
some cheese
and then cook it stove top!
MMM they were extremely delicious,
and filling.
Take that Taco Bell.

The rest of the day was filled with football, hanging with Toms parents where we had dinner, then meeting everyone at the Cigar bar later in the evening. Our fantasy teams are playing each other this week. Right now we are tied, but I have the Jets defense who plays today and he is done playing, so the only way I can lose is if the Jets defense scores negative points. YAY!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend!

xoxo
Heather
